Summary Dissolution
This is a type of "easy divorce" for people who have not been married very long. To get a Summary Dissolution, the parties must:
- Have been married for less than five years
- Have no children together
- Have no real property (real estate) together or separately
- Have no debts exceeding $5,000 (other than car loans)
- Have no assets, together or separately, exceeding $33,000
If the parties qualify for a summary dissolution they need to do the following:
- Read FL-810 which is the informational booklet on summary dissolution
- Jointly complete FL-800. Make two copies in addition to the original so that each party can have a copy. Bring all three copies to the court for filing in ( 10820 Justice Center Drive, Roseville CA 95678). The filing fee is $320.00 (If asking for a fee waiver, both parties must qualify for the fee waiver.).
- Wait a minimum of six months and one day from the date that the FL-800 was filed.
- One of the parties must submit an FL-820 to the court with two copies and two stamped envelopes, one addressed to each party.
- Wait five to six weeks for your Judgment in the mail - you're divorced!
